The Government of India along with all states,under the overall guidance of NITI Aayog,started working on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to achieve them by 2030 AP State Vision 2029 document that laid down the vision encompassing key strategies, targets and milestones to make AP the best state in India by 2029, contains reference to SDGs.
The State has identified that it must upgrade its statistical capacity significantly to be able to monitor and review progress under the SDG framework. APHRDI in association with UNICEF Hyderabad Field Office has set up the Centre for Sustainable Development Goals (CSDG) in its campus at Bapatla.
Centre for Sustainable Development Goals would support the Government of Andhra Pradesh to translate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into action and provide technical assistance to the other south Indian States in general in implementing National Flagship Programs and State priority programs.
Giving a special impetus to the goals which addresses Quality Education (Goal 4) Water Sanitation and Hygiene (Goal 6), Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable (Goal 11) and Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts (Goal 13). The Centre is working to build the capacities of functionaries in Government departments and other stake holders for achieving the SDGs.
